Rick Lutovsky, former President/CEO of the Asheville helped raise $13,000 to do a feasibility study.
A few years ago, the number of people using the river was in the hundreds. Last year, the estimated number rose to apporximately 50,000 people last year.
There are three potential river sites in the study. An access near the New Belgium Brewery under construction, and under the Jeff Bowen Bridge, according to the study, the preferred sites near Jean Webb Park and near the Pearson and close to the Pearson Street Bridge.
