Elderly woman threatened with knife

McDOWELL COUNTY -- Marion Police are looking for a man who threatened an elderly woman at a gas station on Wednesday in Marion.

 

A news release said that the man was white, wearing a blue bandana, cargo shorts and sunglasses. He approached the woman at one of the gas pumps at Murphy's Express on Sugar Hill Road. 

The man held up a knife and demanded her purse. Quick thinking, the woman started blowing her car horn and yelling for help. At that point, the man got into his vehicle and drove off.

There were no injuries and nothing was stolen.

The security camera video shows him in a dark blue Subaru station wagon, driving down Interstate 40.

Accordin to witnesses there was a small child in the vehicle in a car seat.
