Charges:

Feloniously Obtaining Property by False Pretenses (6 counts)

Bond: $40,000.00 – Secured

Court Date: 10/03/2017

Summary:

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office was notified by staff of East Burke High School that a sum of money was missing or stolen. Criminal investigators opened an investigation that spanned over the course of several months and several counties.

The investigation revealed that the defendant, Hampton Marshall Boggs, had presented fictitious receipts to the school for which he received payment. Boggs was arrested at his residence today, October 3, 2017, without incident. He was transported to the Burke County Magistrate and subsequently placed in custody at the Burke Catawba District Confinement Facility under a $40,000.00 secured bond.

The investigation is continuing with additional charges expected.
