Homicide – 2415 HWY 70 SE

Hickory – On Monday, January 15, 2017 at approximately 11:56 p.m., officers from the Hickory Police Department were called to 2415 HWY 70 SE, in reference to an injured subject in the parking lot. Upon arrival officers discovered Rafael Cerda-Ramirez, H/M, 26 years of age, of Marion, NC in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Cerda-Ramirez was transported to Catawba Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

Hickory Police are currently attempting to locate persons of interest, two white males who were potentially driving a small burgundy car. Anyone at IHOP between the hours or 10:30 p.m. and midnight or who may have information about this crime are urged to contact Hickory Police, Investigator K.
