Donor Pays Adoption Fees until December 23 Vance County Animal Shelter

​The generosity of an anonymous donor may help pets to find furever homes for the holidays. Fees for pets adopted until December 23, 2019 will be waived. Also covered,  the pet's spay and neuter fee, microchipping along with standard medical tests and treatments.

Procedure for adoptions will still be followed as usual. Adoptions applications must be filled out and approved by staff. This holiday event only applies to ADULT (does not include small breeds) dogs and cats. If a pet is already spayed or neutered that animal may go home the same day. If not an appointment will be set up with the vet and you will be able to pick up your pet after the procedure. Applications may be pick up at the shelter or on line at the Vance County website under Animal Services, A completed application can be faxed to 252-492-0104 or emailed to vancepets@vancecounty.org

The shelter is overcrowded, as are so many other shelters in North Carolina. Let's hope this act of kindness empties out the shelter!
