Spoonful of Positive: Sunday Thoughts!

Growing up in the 1960s and 1970s I had a lot of messages about Love & Peace. Yes, we were in Vietnam, reminded on evening news, having a brother serving there ... a paratrooper, my parents not knowing his whereabouts for 6 months, finding him through the Red Cross. Seeing black people beat by law enforcement while marching for their civil rights, women fighting for their own rights, JFK killed, Nixon ... It was the music of that era that spoke to so many people.

Expressing emotions of sadness, madness, need, want, communication. It was the hope of love and peace, both the words and sound.

It was felt by young and old. My own family, all 8 of us, sat and watched as the Beatles were introduced live on the Ed Sullivan Show. We watched as the times changing were reflected on television. From Mayberry RFD to All in the Family. It was a unique time to grow up.

What do I remember most, the music. Here is just a Spoonful of Positive I want to share with you!

"Imagine all the people living life in peace." Imagine - John Lennon

"Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair." San Francisco - Scott McKenzie

"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony" - I'd like to teach the world to sing - The Seekers

"Hey! Mr. Tambourine man, play a song for me In the jingle jangle morning I'll come following you" Hey Mr. Tambourine Man - Bob Dylan
