Memorial Day 2021 -- Memorial Day may be a day we get outdoors, enjoy get togethers, kicks of summer.

For over a year now, we've been coping with the pandemic. It may kick off more than just summer for so many. It may be the first time being able to see friends and loved ones in a very long time.

During this time, let us honor those who gave their lives so that we have what we may take for granted.

We need to also realize there are people who have lost loved ones to COVID-19 and acknowledge the emptiness, fear and dispair so many people are going through.

The pandemic is not behind us, there are people who still need to get vaccinated. There's so much division about getting the vaccine. People who still don't have access to it, others refusing to take it.

This memorial day, as we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us, what better way to do that then to come togehter and take care of one another.

The least we could do is show understanding, consideration and lend a helping hand.
