Although legally K9s are not required to wear vests, APD wants to ensure that our police K9s are safe and protected from harm. Ballistic vests protect a K9's vital organs from projectiles and edged weapons, ensuring the pup can go home unharmed after each shift. Thanks to an anonymous donation of $4,000, we've almost got enough funding to outfit every one of our K9 officers!
