Furniture Company in Burke County Adds 100 Jobs

News -- April 20, 2022: Governor Roy Cooper announced today that furniture manufacturer Vanguard Furniture Company, Inc. plans to create 100 new jobs in Burke County, North Carolina. Morganton's upholstery manufacturing operations will receive a $5.9 million investment from the company.

Asheville -- April 18, 2022: Asheville Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects who broke into several automobiles in the south Asheville neighborhood around a week ago. At 10 a.m. on April 9, APD officers arrived to the 100-block of Julian Shoals Road to investigate allegations of five vehicles being broken into earlier that morning.

Mark Meadows Removed from Macon County Voter Rolls

News -- April 13, 2022: Mark Meadows, President Donald Trump's former chief of staff, has been removed from North Carolina's voter registration list after papers revealed he lived in Virginia and voted in that state's election in 2021,
officials said Wednesday. Macon County Board of Elections removed Meadows' registration from the county voter rolls
this week. Meadows is a former congressman representing the area.
