OHIO -- A rural former Cleveland police officer who shot and killed 12-year-old Tamir Rice in a rural town Bellaire, Ohio.

 

Timothy Loehmann shot and killed Tamir Rice in November 14, 2014 responding to a  call to 911 reporting someone outside a Cudell Recreation Center was waving and pointing a gun. The caller also told the dispatcher that the gun looked fake, which was not passed along to the officers. Loehmann shot Tamir Rice right after exiting the police car pulled up in front of Rice, the gun he was holding was a toy pellet gun.

Loehmann was not charged. In 2017 he was fired for lying on his application.
