Dumas, Ark. -- March 20, 2022: A shooting outside a car show in southeast Arkansas on Saturday evening left

at least one person dead and 20 others wounded, including children, according to local authorities.

Dumas Police Chief Keith Finch confirmed the number of deaths, but said it remained unclear how many children
were injured. Additional details, such as the status of the injured, were not immediately available.

Finch told reporters that one suspect had been apprehended, there is a possibility of more shooters.

According to Arkansas State Police spokesperson Bill Sadler, state troopers were rushed to Dumas,
roughly 90 miles south of Little Rock, after a report of shooting outside a local business where the auto show
was taking place.

According to the Delta Neighborhood Empowerment Youth Organization's website, the auto show is part of a
community event done each spring to generate funds for scholarships and school supplies.

The car show's organizer, Wallace McGehee, extended his sympathy to the victims' families and the community.

"It's a tragedy that something like this happened," McGehee said on the scene to KATV. "We've been doing this
without a hitch for the past 16 years."

Chris Jones, a Democrat running for governor of Arkansas, tweeted that he was at the event earlier Saturday,  to register voters, “I am deeply saddened (and honestly angered) by this tragedy,”
