Kentucky -- April 10, 2022: An indictment was released Thursday in federal court in Louisville, Kentucky, charging
a violent crime by shooting at and attempting to kill a candidate for elective office.

Quintez O. Brown, 21, of Louisville, allegedly discharged a weapon in an attempt to disrupt victim Craig Greenberg's mayoral campaign in Louisville and scare C.G. from campaigning as a Democratic mayoral candidate in the Louisville primary election, according to court filings.

The defendant appeared in court for the first time before U.S. Magistrate Judge Colin H. Lindsay of the Western District of Kentucky. He faces a required minimum of 10 years in jail and a maximum term of life in prison if convicted of all charges. After considering the US Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory criteria, a federal district court judge will impose the sentence.

The investigation is being conducted by the FBI’s Louisville Field Office and the Louisville Metro Police Department as part of FBI Louisville’s Public Corruption Civil Rights Task Force.

*Editor's Note: A criminal charge is an accusation, by law, a person accused of a crime is innocent until proven in a court of law.
