US News: August 4, 2022:Attorney General Merrick Garland announced at a press conference on Thursday that four current and former Louisville Metro Police Department officers who participated

in the fatal home invasion of Breonna Taylor were detained and charged with civil rights violations, illegal conspiracies, the unlawful use of force, and obstruction offenses.

In order to avoid accountability for their roles in composing the warrant affidavit that contained false material, Joshua Jaynes, Kelly Goodlett, and Kyle Meany collaborated to develop a bogus cover narrative. They were charged with submitting a fraudulent affidavit to search Taylor's residence.

Two counts of deprivation of rights under color of law were brought against Brett Hankison. Hankison's lawyer declined to comment.

The policemen involved in the bungled raid in 2020 are each facing their first federal charges. Hankison was charged with three counts of felony wanton endangerment at the state level, but she was cleared of all three in March.

Editor's Note:* A criminal charge is an accusation, by law, a person accused of a crime is innocent until proven in a court of law.

The case is ongoing.
