Pelosi Attacker Not in Underwear

Assumptions that David DePape and/or Paul Pelosi were wearing only their underwear when

San Francisco police arrived at the scene of the hammer attack are rife on Twitter. But is it actually the case? What proof is there?

The attack happened Friday morning at around 2 a.m. DePape was not in his underwear, according to the one reliable media outlet that reported it. Pelosi was not in his underwear, and neither the government nor any reliable media outlet has corroborated this.

KTVU-TV, a lone news source, claimed that Depape was just wearing his underwear when cops arrived. Even though this news outlet is well-known as a reliable TV source, they eventually issued a correction:

An earlier version of this story misstated what clothing the suspect was wearing when officers found him.”

Oakland, California-based KTVU-TV is a television station that is associated with Fox. Investigative journalist Evan Sernoffsky wrote the piece.
