South Carolina -- November 28, 2022: Following the discovery of her mother's death, the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance

in finding a missing five-year-old child.

Deputies were summoned to a home on Louise Drive on Thanksgiving day to conduct a welfare check of the residents, according to OCSO. They discovered the mother of the child, who had been missing since November 1, dead inside the house.

Aspen Jeter, the child, was not found in the home.

Anyone with any information on the child’s location or deceased person is asked to contact the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office at 803-534-3550 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that investigators are searching for a five-year-old child reported missing from an Orangeburg residence.
"If you have any information in the whereabouts of this child, please let us know," the sheriff said. "You don't have to give your name, but just give us what you know."
Ravenell said that around noon on Thanksgiving Day, Orangeburg County Sheriff's deputies were sent to a residence on the 200 block of Louise Drive to conduct a welfare check.
At that location, deputies found a deceased female who had not been heard from since November 1.
Investigating deputies learned the deceased female has a child named Aspen Jeter who was not located in the home.
