ReBuild NC to Host Outreach Events for Hurricane Matthew Homeowners


RALEIGH -- PRESS RELEASE -- NC DPS: Rebuild NC to host outreach events to assist Hurricane Matthews impacted homeowners

The ReBuild North Carolina Program will host a series of outreach events over the coming months to assist homeowners who sustained damage from Hurricane Matthew complete their program application for recovery aid.

ReBuild NC, North Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery program, provides funding to applicants for housing repairs, homeowner reimbursement for work that homeowners have already completed on their own and other housing-related issues due to damage from Hurricane Matthew.

All impacted individuals, regardless of where they are in the recovery process, are strongly encouraged to dial 2-1-1 to make an appointment and complete an application at a scheduled outreach event or one of the program’s application centers.Upcoming events are scheduled as follows:

Johnston County

James Bryan Creech Public Library – 206 W. Hatcher St., Four Oaks

Nov. 1, 1:30-5:30 p.m.

Nov. 2, 1-7 p.m.

Nov. 3, 1-5 p.m.

Nov. 13, 1-5:30 p.m.

Harnett County

Dunn Public Library – 110 E. Devine St., Dunn

Nov. 8, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Nov. 9, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Nov. 10, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Nov. 19, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Hoke County

Hoke County Public Library – 334 N. Main St., Raeford

Nov. 13, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Nov. 14, 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

Nov. 15, 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

Nov. 26, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Greene County

Neuse Regional Library – 229G Kingold Blvd., Snow Hill

The program is working to schedule additional events in other Hurricane Matthew impacted counties. Updates on times and locations of future events will be posted on the program website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

During a scheduled appointment, application specialists are available to assist individuals with completing and submitting a program application.

Individuals who experienced damage during Hurricane Matthew, and were impacted again by Hurricane Florence, may still be eligible to receive assistance for Matthew damages through ReBuild NC. In order to qualify for assistance through ReBuild NC at this time, the home must have been damaged by Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
