Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims School Paid $5 Billion for CRT

Washington, DC -- February 2, 2023: Marjorie Taylor Greene  made news Wednesday. Greene asserted that an elementary school in Illinois received

more than $5 billion in COVID-19 federal relief cash to be used for critical race theory education.

Greene made her remarks during the opening hearing of the new congressional session of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, which was centered on instances when pandemic-related federal aid was allegedly exploited for wasteful or fraudulent spending.

The $5 billion figure is significantly higher than the total amount of COVID-19 relief funding that has been allocated to the entire state of Illinois.
