The Ghost Train of Bostian's Bridge

On August 27, 1891 a passenger train was crossing the Western North Carolina Railraod Bostian's Bridge traveling from Statesville to Asheville.

At 3:00 a.m. the train crossed the bridge, plunged off the bridge into the creek. Twenty-two people were killed in the wreck, the cause was never found.
The Legend begins: On August 27, 1941, early in the morning, while waitng for her husband to get help to change a flat tire near the railroad tracks, the wife heard a train whistle and could see a healdlight down the tracks. As the train started to cross the bridge, she heard a crash and saw the train as it plunged into the creek. Taking a closer look, she could see injured passenger cars with people screaming and moaning. When her husband returned in a car with help, she tried to tell him and show him the wreck, there was nothing there.
On August 27, 2010, a group of twelve amateur ghost hunters were on the tracks waiting to see the ghost train at 2:45 a.m. They didn't run right way from it,  thinking it was  the ghost train. Christopher Kaiser, 29, died at the scene and two others were injured.
