WNC -- December 4, 2025: A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect across much of Western North Carolina as a new round of wintry precipitation is expected to redevelop tonight, Thursday, December 4, 2025. Forecasters warn that sharply dropping temperatures will allow a dangerous mix of snow and freezing rain to impact the region, creating hazardous travel conditions, especially for the Friday morning commute.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued the advisory for numerous mountain counties, including Buncombe, Madison, Haywood, Transylvania, and Jackson.Advisory Details and TimingThe advisory goes into effect at 7 p.m. Thursday and carries through 10 a.m. Friday for elevations above 3,500 feet.
