Rutherford County -- December 10. 2025: An investigation initiated by a cyber tip has led to the arrest of an Ellenboro man on multiple felony charges related to child sexual exploitation material (CSAM).
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, operating as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, announced the arrest of John Fitzgerald Slattery on December 9, 2025. He faces 10 counts of Third-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.Key Details of the InvestigationThe case began on October 16, 2025, when ICAC investigators received a cyber tip reporting "known" child exploitation material. Investigators successfully traced the information to a residence located at 156 Fairfax
