Walk For Peace -- January 4, 2026: Across the highways and backroads of the American South, a group of saffron-robed monks is currently engaged in one of the most ambitious spiritual pilgrimages in modern U.S. history. They aren't carrying signs, they aren't chanting slogans, and they aren't asking for votes. They are simply walking—2,300 miles from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington, D.C.—to plant seeds of peace in a divided world.
The Heart of the MissionLed by Venerable Bhikkhu Paññākāra, nearly two dozen monks from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center set out on October 26, 2025. This 110-day journey, known as the Bhikkhu Walk, is rooted in the belief that "peace is not a destination; it is a practice."The goal is three-fold:National Healing: To offer a calm presence amidst cultural and political divisions.Inner Peace: To remind Americans that the source of peace lives within each individual heart.Compassion in Action
