Bank of America Names Safelight as Asheville 2025 Neighborhood Builder

WNC-- December 11, 2025: Bank of America has recognized Safelight for its decades of vital work supporting survivors of interpersonal violence, abuse, and exploitation, by naming the nonprofit its Asheville 2025 Neighborhood Builder®. The award includes a multi-year grant and leadership development, providing a significant boost as Western North Carolina continues its long-term recovery efforts following Hurricane Helene.
Safelight, which has served more than 46,000 individuals since its founding in 1984, was honored at the Bank of America Philanthropy Forum on November 13 at Blue Ridge Community College.
