Buncombe County -- December 23, 2025: Authorities have announced a significant breakthrough in the homicide investigation of Joseph Rose. On Friday, December 19, detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) officially charged Johnathan David Paleno, 21, of Cullowhee, with First Degree Murder.
Details of the ArrestPaleno was taken into custody on the day of the charges by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in Cullowhee.
