Buncombe County -- August 19, 2025 : The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of Sundari Anders-Hoepgen, a 14-year-old who had gone missing, on August 18, 2025.
With the help of other agencies, the Sheriff's Office planned a search of the neighborhood that continued well into the night. Deputies were given a guided patrol in the region after they were unable to investigate the heavily forested terrain any further.This morning, members of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, Skyland Fire Department, Buncombe County Emergency Services, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation resumed the search.
