Fatal Christmas Day Collision in Henderson County

Henderson County -- December 26, 2025: A tragic head-on collision on Christmas Day has left one man dead and a family of four injured in Henderson County. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 5:09 p.m. on N.C. 191, near the intersection with McDowell Road.
Details of the CrashInvestigators report that a man operating a 2001 Honda CR-V was traveling southbound at a “high rate of speed” when he lost control of the vehicle. The Honda crossed the center line and struck a 2023 Ford F-150 head-on.The driver of the Honda was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact and was ejected through the windshield. He was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Authorities have not yet released his identity, as they are still working to notify
