WNC -- November 26, 2025: Governor Josh Stein, the Governor's Recovery Office for Western North Carolina (GROW NC), and North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) have announced the allocation of over $550,000 in grants aimed at providing crucial winterization and temporary housing assistance for families in Western North Carolina whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Helene.
This funding targets emergency repairs and cold-weather preparations for both damaged homes and temporary shelters, recognizing the urgency of the approaching winter season.
