Franklin -- September 19, 2025: A small-engine plane crash near an elementary school in Macon County has claimed the lives of all three people on board, including Grammy Award-winning songwriter Brett James.
The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday, September 18, 2025, in a field adjacent to the Iotla Valley Elementary School, according to the Macon County Sheriff's Office.
