Lane Closure and Traffic Shift Coming to U.S. 74 West in Clyde

Clyde -- October 26, 2025: Drivers traveling west on U.S. 74 in Clyde should prepare for five days of lane closures starting this week as the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) begins the process of moving traffic onto a temporary bridge.
According to an NCDOT news release, a single lane of U.S. 74 West will be closed in a short stretch south of Interstate 40 from Sunday, October 26, through Thursday, October 30.The closure will allow crews from NHM Constructors of Asheville to prepare the roadway for a significant traffic pattern change.
