Maggie Valley -- November 18, 2025: The National Park Service (NPS) announced it is conducting a significant prescribed burn today in the scenic Cataloochee Valley Area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
This controlled operation is a critical step in maintaining the ecological health and historic landscape of the valley.The burn targets approximately 89 acres spread across six distinct fields.
