WNC -- November 10, 2025: A surge of high winds and snow has forced the National Park Service (NPS) to implement temporary closures across a significant portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina.
As of midday Monday, November 10, the picturesque mountain route is largely impassable from the Blowing Rock area all the way to Cherokee, including the critical commuter stretch surrounding Asheville.Drivers heading to the scenic roadway this Monday morning were met with gates and "road closed" signs as winter weather conditions made travel unsafe.
