At approximately 9:45 a.m. on November 10, the Asheville Police Department (APD) responded to a fight in progress at the Hot Spot on Asheland Avenue in the downtown area. A preliminary investigation revealed that two people were involved in an argument, and that a third individual suddenly attacked one of the others with a machete. The victim was fortunate in that they suffered only minor injuries.
The officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident. ????? ??????? ??????, 40, of Asheville was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and injury to personal property, and is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Center under a $3,000 secured bond.
The APD is committed to addressing violent crime within our community. Since January 1, 2020, ?? individuals have been injured from a stabbing in Asheville.
