we will be sharing awareness messages surrounding this topic in partnership with various community resources.

Bruises of various colors and stages of healing
Bruises that are not consistent with the explanation provided by the child
Bruises that would not be typical of normal childhood bruises, such as black eyes or bruises not on bony, exposed parts of the body
Unexplained burns
Unduly shy, withdrawn, passive
Self-destructive behaviors
Unexplained fractures, abrasions or injuries
Welts, human bite marks, bald spots
Unduly frightened of a parent or caretaker
Child reports abuse by parent or caretaker
Absences from school or daycare and child presents with fading
bruises
Wears inappropriate clothing for the environmental conditions
