Buncombe County -- Buncombe County Government News April 28, 2021

Buncombe County Health and Human Services is now offering free, walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations at the Buncombe County vaccination clinic located on the campus of A-B Tech. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is available to everyone 16 years of age and older at the A-B Tech location. The clinic is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Buncombe County Public Health Director Stacie Saunders urges the community to get vaccinated if they haven’t already. Saunders says, “Getting vaccinated protects you and the community. Vaccinations help us stay ahead of the virus and keep us moving forward to the things we’ve missed in the last year.” Saunders added, “In addition to scheduled appointments, we have walk-in availability now at our A-B Tech site. Come see us or visit a vaccine provider near to you. It doesn’t matter which vaccine provider you visit, only that you take that next step toward vaccination.”

Getting a vaccine is easy and free, and includes a 15-minute observation time after you receive your vaccine. The entire process lasts about 30 minutes at the Buncombe County vaccination clinic. No documentation or information is needed for those receiving their first dose of the vaccine. We only ask for your name and date of birth so that we can keep track of your immunization record. All other information that you provide is optional. Clinic staff will schedule your second dose at the time of your first vaccination.

If you prefer to make an appointment, you may still do so on our website at buncombeready.org or by contacting the Buncombe Ready Team at (828) 419-0095. We look forward to seeing you at the Buncombe County vaccination clinic.
