The Town of Franklin, North Carolina invites you to our Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 3rd. There are many changes to this year's event, so continue reading below for the latest information.

2021 Schedule of Events* • Saturday, July 3rd
Noon to 4:00 pm - Kid's Zone (inflatables for kids including a waterslide!
4:30 pm - Little Miss & Mr. Firecracker Contest
4:45 pm - Patriotic Pet Contest
5:30 pm - Patriotic Parade Lineup (Lower Level Parking Lot of Town Hall)
6:00 pm - PATRIOTIC PARADE
8:30 pm - Live Radio Broadcast of 104.9 WFSC
9:30 pm - Fireworks Over Franklin*

Many of our Downtown Merchants & Restaurants will be open so be sure to check out the many unique shopping opportunities and eateries Franklin, NC has to offer.

It's a great day and evening of family fun as we celebrate our Nation's 245th Birthday in Franklin, North Carolina!

PLEASE NOTE: Due to continuing concerns over COVID-19 we will not be able to offer free watermelon this year.

* Rain date for fireworks display is Saturday, July 10th at 9:30 pm. Same location. Schedule subject to change.

 
ALL-AMERICAN 4th of JULY • Franklin, North Carolina

6:00 PM • PATRIOTIC PARADE
NEW TIME! You can be part of Franklin's Annual Patriotic Parade at 6:00 p.m.. While you go most places to see a parade, we actually invite you to participate! Deck out in red, white and blue and walk or drive down Main Street. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. To join in, just be in the lower level of Franklin Town Hall for lineup beginning at 5:30 p.m.

GREAT FUN FOR THE KIDS FEATURING INFLATABLES!
NOON TO 4:00 PM - The Town of Franklin will again have the Kid's Zone for 2020 featuring inflatable attractions for the young ones attending including a water slide and more. Be sure your youngsters are dressed appropriately if they want to cool off on the water slide! A towel would come in handy as well.

All attractions are absolutely FREE.

4:30 PM • LITTLE MR. & MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST
Be at the Gazebo on the Square in Downtown Franklin for the Little Mr. & Miss Firecracker Contest at 4:30 pm. This contest is open to ages 3 to 6 and is judged on patriotic costume and one question. No registration is required. Just come to the gazebo stage area to enter.

4:45 PM • PATRIOTIC PET CONTEST
Following the Little Mr. & Miss Firecracker Contest (at approximately 4:45 pm) is the Town of Franklin's Annual Patriotic Pet Contest! Entries are judged on their patriotic attire and trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. No registration is required. Again, just be at the gazebo stage area to enter your pet.

9:30 PM • FIREWORKS OVER FRANKLIN!
Back by popular demand this year is Fireworks Over Franklin. Our expanded Park & Watch Fireworks Display begins at 9:30 pm. The show is produced by Hale Artificier of Lexington, NC. In case of inclement weather, the fireworks display will be held on Saturday, July 10 (same location).

Please Note: No admittance to the fireworks grounds. This is a park & watch show only. Any unauthorized vehicles in the safety zone will be towed.
