Asheville -- Asheville Police Department reported finding a car with 14 bullet holes, most likely shot with a .223 rifle.

Car shot 14 times. Detectives need your help

After reports of gunshots on Deaverview Road, officers responded and located a car that had 14 bullet holes. The bullet holes are possibly from a .223 rifle. No shell casings were located and no individuals reported being shot. The incident happened at approximately 1:05 a.m. on July 24.

Since January 1, 2021, the Asheville Police Department has responded to 327 calls for service reporting gunshots or someone shot. In addition, 24 people have been shot in Asheville.
