Angela Elaine Hough was charged and arrested after calls to 9-1-1 reporting a woman shooting a gun into the air on Granada Street. Fortunately, no one was injured. This happened at approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 28.
She is currently in jail on a $6,000 secured bond. She has been charged with:
charged with going armed to the terror of the public
discharging a firearm within city limits
possession of a firearm by a felon
Since January 1, 2021, the Asheville Police Department has responded to 332 calls for service for gunshots or a person who has been shot. In addition, 25 people have been shot in Asheville. Lastly, the Asheville Police Department has seized 141 firearms as evidence during the same time period.
