Macon County -- Macon County Sheriff's Office July 29, 2021 announced the arrest of a man on parole, charging him with

Breaking and Entering, Possession of Stolen Goods, Felony Larceny and Parole Violation. 

Robert David Burch was arrested, along with Caroline "Carrie" Willis was also charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Goods. In addition, Willis is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Macon County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit was able to quickly solve a local breaking and entering case thanks to iPhone GPS tracking.

On July 26, detectives Jonathan Bean and Tim Holland were called to Schumacher homes to investigate a reported breaking and entering wherein approximately $10,000 worth of electronics, tools and other various items were stolen. One of the stolen items, an iPhone 11, was tracked through GPS on the device to a Franklin residence, where Det. Bean, Det. Holland, Sgt. Troy Burt and Deputy Adrian Mace went to investigate further. At the residence, Carrie Willis was found to be in possession of several of the reported stolen items from Shumacher’s home. Upon further investigation, Robert David Burch was found to have been at the scene of the crime as well.
During the course of the investigation, Burch was found to be on active parole known to be wearing an electronic ankle monitor which tracks his location at all times. Commonly known to use this technology , detectives were able to determine that he was at Shumacher’s home at the time the breaking and entering was committed.
Burch was later apprehended by Macon County Sheriff’s Office without incident and more stolen items were found to be in his possession.
Robert David Burch is curre try being held in the Macon County Detention Center charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Possession of Stolen Goods, and Parole Violation and is being held on a $40,000 bond, however, due to the violation of his parole, he will be unable to bond out.
Carolyn “Carrie” Rosaleigha Willis is also incarcerated in the detention center and is currently charged with Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, and Possession of Stolen Goods. In addition, Willis is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, as it was found on her at the time of the search for the stolen property. Willis is currently being held under a $20,000 secured bond.
