For home and property owners, if you volunteer to participate in the Hazard Mitigation Grant program, assistance may be provided through any of the options listed below:
Home & property acquisition (demolition or relocation)
Home elevation
Mitigation reconstruction
Floodproofing
The public is invited to participate in a meeting where representatives of North Carolina Emergency Management will explain what programs are available locally and how to apply.
Hazard Mitigation Public Meeting
When: October 7, 2021, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Haywood Community College Auditorium
The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the available options under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. There is no obligation to apply and no obligation to participate if you do apply. Making an application for flood mitigation assistance simply indicates your interest in the available programs.
North Carolina Emergency Management representatives will be on hand after the meeting to answer questions about the application process and help you fill out application paperwork if you do wish to do so.
Masks and social distancing are required.
