Buncombe County -- Buncombe County Government Community News November 4, 2021

In North Carolina, children ages 5-11 years old are now eligible to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine. Buncombe County Health and Human Services is committed to equity and efficiency as we roll out vaccines for 5-11-year-olds. We are partnering with schools, community organizations, and vaccine providers to administer the vaccine to the youngest members of our community.

Getting younger children vaccinated can protect them from COVID-19 and prevent interruption of in-person learning and activities. Additionally, community transmission can be further decreased as more people get vaccinated. We encourage parents to talk to their child’s medical provider to learn more about the importance of vaccines for younger kids.

There are many ways for anyone 5 years of age and older to get a COVID-19 vaccination in Buncombe County. Please check with your medical provider or nearest pharmacy to see if they provide the pediatric COVID-19 vaccine.
