 Jan. 13, 2022 : Asheville Police detectives have made another arrest in connection with last week’s burglary of a local gun business in which 34 guns were stolen.

Detectives arrested a fourth person Wednesday and charged him for being in possession of one of the stolen guns from Carolina Guns & Gear from the Jan. 7 burglary.
Arrested:
Bernard Eugene Carson (10/26/1988)

· Possession of Firearm by Felon
Seized:
· Smith & Wesson M&P pistol (9mm) *Stolen*
Carson was transported and booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center with a $50,000 secured bond.
APD previously arrested three others, including Jesse Lynn Williams (04/06/1988), Lyron Deshawn Greenlee (03/27/1987), and Alexa Rae Bassillo (11/18/1992) for the burglary.
Asheville Police continue to investigate this burglary as they partner with the Dept. of Public Safety and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms on this case. In total, detectives say 34 guns were stolen from Carolina Guns & Gear, and they have now recovered six of those guns and are aggressively working to locate the others.

Asheville, NC (Jan. 12, 2022): Asheville Police worked over the past few days to investigate a burglary at a local gun business early morning Friday where 33 guns were stolen. They were able to make multiple arrests in this case, as well as link the suspects to a Christmas-day break-in of Lowes on Tunnel Road.

· Carrying a Concealed Gun
Lyron Deshawn Greenlee, 34
· Robbery w/ a Dangerous Weapon
· Assault by Pointing a Gun
· Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury
· Possession of Firearm by Felon
· Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
· Possession of a Stolen Firearm
· Possession of Firearm by Felon

Seized from Greenlee:
· Beretta PX4 Storm pistol (9mm) *Stolen*
· Smith & Wesson M&P pistol (.45 cal) *Stolen*
· Springfield XDM pistol (9mm) *Stolen*
· Springfield XD pistol (9mm) *Stolen*
· 1.39g of methamphetamine

APD Detectives and Officers teamed with the Dept. of Public Safety and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms during their investigation. Detectives were able to determine Williams as the suspect and worked to bring him into custody. They found multiple firearms with Williams, including one that was reported stolen from Carolina Guns & Gear. Officers also found a home-made fuel filter suppressor and multiple burglary tools.
Detectives also arrested Lyron Greenlee for his involvement in the burglary. In his possession, they found several of the stolen firearms, and he also had multiple open warrants following an unrelated robbery in Pisgah View.
All three suspects were transported and booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center; Williams has a $150,000 secured bond; Greenlee has a $165,000 secured bond; and Bassillo was released on a $5,000 bond.
