Haywood County -- January 19, 2021: Haywood County Emergency Services

Yesterday's new case totals for the previous week were startling; 883 new cases. This week we also mourned nine additional COVID deaths in Haywood County.

COVID hospitalizations remain high, up over 40 percent from two weeks ago.
Then Winter Storm Izzy came along and complicated the picture even further.
Despite all this, progress in the fight against COVID is happening.
A new COVID testing site is opening this week in Haywood County
At home COVID test are available online at https://www.covidtests.gov/
The White House announced today that free N95 masks will be available soon at local pharmacies
As always, COVID vaccinations and boosters are free, and widely available.
