Eden Police Arrest 6 in county wide FedEx theft ring

Early last week, investigators received information that FedEx drivers in the Eden area were trading packages for narcotics. Investigators launched their investigation and were able to identify two (2) FedEx drivers as potential suspects and locate multiple addresses which possibly contained stolen property. Investigators executed multiple search warrants, recovering in excess of $10,000 worth of stolen merchandise and were able to arrest six (6) individuals.
On Thursday, January 27, 2022 at approximately 10:30 A.M. Investigators with Eden Police Department executed a search warrant 1113 Willow St. FedEx packages were recovered and illegal narcotics were seized as a result of this search warrant.
On Friday, January 28, 2022 at approximately 3:30 P.M. Investigators with Eden Police Department executed a search warrants at 135 N. Fieldcrest Rd and 137 N. Fieldcrest Rd. FedEx packages were recovered as a result of this search warrant.
On Friday, January 28, 2022 at approximately 7:30 P.M. Investigators with Eden Police Department executed a search warrant 842 Pitcher Ave. FedEx packages were recovered and illegal narcotics were seized as a result of this search warrant.
On Monday, January 31, 2022 with the assistance of Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office, investigators executed a search warrant at 1960 Moir Mill Rd. FedEx packages were recovered and illegal narcotics were seized as a result of this search warrant.
The following individuals have been charged, arrested and are schedule to appear in Rockingham County District Court:
John Paul Southard 29 years old
FedEx employee, John Southard of Eden North Carolina was charged with accessing computers to defraud (F) and larceny by employee (F). Southard was issued a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-10-2022.
Robert Earl Wilfong 55 years old
Robert Wilfong of Eden North Carolina was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny by employee (F), receiving stolen property (F), possession of a schedule II-controlled substance (F), possess drug paraphernalia (M), and animal cruelty (M) Wilfong was issued a $12,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-09-2022.
Michelle Leigh Doyle 50 years old
FedEx employee, Michelle Doyle of Eden North Carolina was charged with Accessing computers to Defraud (F), larceny by employee (F) and Possession of a scheduled I controlled substance (F). Doyle was issued a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-17-2022.
Christopher Jay Nipper 38 years old
Christopher Nipper of Eden North Carolina was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny by employee (F), receiving stolen property (F) and possession of a schedule I-controlled substance (F). Nipper was issued a $10,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-17-2022.
Phillip Elon Nipper 44 years old
Phillip Nipper of Eden North Carolina was charged with aid and abet larceny by employee (F). Nipper was issued a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-17-2022.
Quantez Deonte Moore 30 years old
Quantez Moore of Eden North Carolina was charged with conspiracy to commit larceny by employee (F) and receiving stolen property (F). Moore was issued a $7,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on 2-17-2022.
