Asheville -- (Feb. 9, 2022)—Asheville Police are investigating a carjacking that occurred Tuesday in which a white man

forcefully removed a 91-year-old female driver from her vehicle and drove off.

The woman said the man assaulted her, she screamed and kicked but he was able to get her out of the vechicle. The victim suffered a minor injury to her hand, and Asheville Fire Department checked her for further injuries. She was shaken from the incident, but otherwise okay.

Officers issued a BOLO (be on the lookout) right away and an APD officer located the stolen vehicle a few hours later. He described a white man, wearing a hoodie driving the vehicle. After seeing the police, the man ran, taking the license plate with him.

The suspect is described as a young white male, approximately in his early 20s, 6 feet tall with a slim build, and wearing a white hoodie jacket.
