Internationally renowned for its innovation, creativity and electrifying performances, PHILADANCO! The Philadelphia Dance Company and its superbly trained dancers carry forward a decades-long legacy of breaking barriers and building bridges across cultural divides. Originally founded to provide opportunities for Black dancers, the company continues to serve as a beacon of opportunity, inclusion and hope in its 51st season. Curbside Revival Asheville Gallery Show is taking place at Archetype Brewing – North (Tap Lounge & Venue) 174 Broadway St, Asheville, NC 28801 on Friday, March 11 & Saturday, March 12 2022 from 6:30 – 10 pm. Archetype Brewing has donated the space for this special weekend event that will showcase how establishments, captured by Carol Spagnuola of Carol Spags Photography, persevered through the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic. The strength and resiliency of Asheville businesses during this challenging time was captured by Carol as most businesses were forced to close and innovate in order to stay alive. This will be a ticketed event with 100% of ticket sales donated to the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association. The event will have light hors d’oeuvres catered by a few local establishments. The Magnetic Theatre presents its 2022 Sketch Comedy Revue, Algorithm & Blues: A Dating Sketch Show, opening March 4 -12, 2022, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, March 6 at 4 pm, and Thursday, March 10 at 7:30 pm. Local writers George Awad, Katie Jones, Travis Lowe, and Jason Phillips take on everything from first dates to live-in mates, from playground friends to friends with benefits. Directed by Phillips with savvy, spice, and #nofilter, eleven Magnetic faves and new attractions flex their sketch muscles in an ensemble extravaganza of sixty different characters.
