Asheville Police Investigating Gunfire in Downtown

Asheivlle -- February 13, 2022: Asheville police responded to a report of gunfire at the corner

of College St. and Patton Ave. early Friday morning (Feb. 11, 2022). Officers located a crowd of people when they arrived on scene at 12:45 a.m., but no shooter was found among the group. An investigation of the site revealed several bullet casings, broken glass, and some possible property damage, though it is unclear whether any buildings or people were hit by bullets. The investigation is ongoing, so more details are unavailable at this time.
