Asheville -- February 25, 2022 Asheville Polce responded to a breaking and enteing call at an apartment on

Mount Vernon Circle.

Police officers entered the residence after finding a broken window by the front door, finding the victim inside. 

Officers identified the suspect, Ronald Francis, showing him in video sureillance going into the apartment, stealing two handguns and the victim's vehicle.

The suspect discharged a handgun into the apartment ceiling, fortunately no one was injured.

Francis was found in an apartment close by and taken into custody.

Felonious Breaking and entering and larceny from building
Larceny of a firearm (two counts)
Discharge of a firearm into an occupied dwelling
Larceny of a motor vehicle
Damage to real property
Damage to personal property
Discharge of a firearm in city limits
He was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Facility for booking, where he has a $150,000 secured bond.
