Macon County Fire Marshal Confirms One Person Dead in House Fire

Macon County NC - - March 14, 2022: A house fire in Macon County resulted in the death of one person.

A residence on Ridge Circle caught fire Monday, according to the Macon County Fire Marshals Office, and crews responded at 4 a.m. There was still a person inside, according to accounts.

Officials said the fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes and that one individual was confirmed deceased. The cause of the fire is being looked into.

The identify of the person has not been revealed.
