Asheville --  March 22, 2022: Investigators with the Asheville Police Department are looking for help

identifying two armed robbers who held up an east Asheville convenience store at gunpoint on Monday night.

Around 9:50 p.m. on March 21, APD officers were summoned to a convenience store in the 600 block of Swant tonoa River Road to investigate an armed robbery. The responding patrol officer arrived shortly and conducted interviews as well as reviewing CCTV footage.
According to the inquiry, a man entered the business around 9:48 p.m., approached the counter holding a weapon, and demanded money from the clerk by pointing to the register. The man then walked away with the money a minute later, getting into a car with a getaway driver and driving away from the scene.
The clerk was unharmed.
According to APD police, the suspect who entered the store was described as a Caucasian male wearing gloves, a red bandanna, sunglasses, and a blue beanie cap. The armed robber exited the business and entered a green Mazda automobile with a license plate visible in the back window. During the heist, the driver of that vehicle, a white male with a weapon (as seen on surveillance video), waited outside in the vehicle while peering into the business.
Anyone with information concerning these individuals' identities or the car they were driving is encouraged to call APD at (828) 252-1110. You can also text TIP2APD to 847411 or use the TIP2APD smartphone app (search "Asheville PD" in your app store) to send an anonymous tip.
