Asheville -- May 29, 2022: Joseph Robert Webb of Weaverville was arrested for Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Absconding from a Department of Correction Parole Violation after a month-long investigation 

by the Buncombe County Anti-Crime Task Force (BCAT) and the Buncombe County Sheriff's Community Enforcement Team (SCET).

SCET Deputies saw Webb operating a car in the Candler region of Buncombe County on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Webb was arrested after SCET conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle, and he was brought into jail for an open parole violation warrant. Webb was found to be in possession of $3,000 in cash and Methadone during the traffic encounter. Webb was taken to the Buncombe County Detention Facility by SCET to have his warrants served.
BCAT acquired additional information about Webb and his narcotics trafficking activities on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. BCAT and SCET seized 2.63 pounds (1,192.9 grams, 42.08 ounces, or 1.19 kilograms) of Methamphetamine belonging to Webb with the help of community members and other investigative procedures.

Joseph Robert Webb is in the custody of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office under a NO BOND pending a Parole Violation hearing.
Webb has been charged with the following:
Parole Violation for Conspire to Traffic in Cocaine
Interfere with Electronic Monitoring Device
Trafficking Methamphetamine Level III
Possession With Intent to Manufacture Sell Deliver Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
