Moore County -- June 10, 2022: Following an investigation into animal abuse in Moore County's West End, Sheriff Ronnie Fields announces the arrest of two people.

The Moore County Sheriff's Office got a report of many deceased dogs in the back of a box truck on Grant Street in the Seven Lakes neighborhood of West End on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. Multiple lifeless dogs were discovered in the back of a leased box truck by Animal Control Deputies and Sheriff's Office Investigators who arrived to the scene. Scott Thomas McCaffrey and Tambra Lynn Clift of Weslaco, drivers of the box truck. A total of ten canines perished as a result of the suspect's irresponsibility, according to the inquiry.
Investigators then arrested Scott Thomas McCaffrey, 48, and Tambra Lynn Clift, 50, both of Weslaco, Texas, and charged them with felony cruelty to animals on 10 counts. McCaffrey and Clift were both committed to the Moore County Detention Center on a $30,000 secured bond pending their first court appearance on Thursday, June 30, 2022 in Moore County District Court.
